Tiki Surf
Tiki started making surfboards back in 1963 making them one of Britain’s longest running surf companies. Their surfboard technologies now represent the most advanced construction techniques in the world, utilising the latest Carbon, Bamboo, EPS and Epoxy materials.
Their wetsuits are also world leading; defined by their position in the harsh North Atlantic, and are one of the few UK companies to sell wetsuits around the world.
In our bid to support ‘Local’ we have partnered with Tiki across our range of products and you will find all the very latest equipment from boards to wetsuits in use at the Academy.
We also operate as Tiki’s North Devon test centre. Please speak to us about arranging a free test session before purchasing your board.

Surfers against Sewage
Surfers Against Sewage is widely recognised as the environmental charity that helped significantly improve bathing water quality standards right around the UK. Established in 1990 by a group of passionate, local surfers and beach lovers in the picturesque north coast villages of St Agnes and Porthtowan, the organization swiftly created a national movement calling for improved water quality UK-wide. This initial campaign led to water companies investing approximately £5 billion in sewerage infrastructures, and a dramatic improvement in the cleanliness of our oceans and rivers.
Please keep an eye out for the beach cleans we are organising throughout the year alongside Surfers Against Sewage.

Croyde Surf Lifesaving Club
Croyde Surf Lifesaving Club recently celebrated an amazing 50 years of educating and training children and adults in Lifesaving and First aid techniques. As a multi-discipline sport, it includes board-paddling, surf skis, surf rowing, IRB (Inshore Rescue boat) training, sea swimming, running, and beach games.
Anyone who enjoys the ocean, whether occasionally on holiday, or everyday through surfing, swimming and watersports needs to be aware of safety for themselves and others.
By getting involved in Surf Lifesaving on a regular basis you could really enhance your knowlege and experience in the sea, increasing your confidence and fitness to deal with any situation. Beaches are not always covered by professional lifeguards, and if you are involved in a potential rescue situation your knowledge could be invaluable.
Aged 6 – 70yrs and providing you can swim at least 50 metres in a pool, the club can offer fun, challenging activities to appeal to any child or adult.
If you have never used a paddle board or tried swimming in the sea….. Our friendly, experienced coaches will encourage all beginners to enjoy learning new skills, spot hazards, identify rips and increase their wave knowledge which in turn will help your surfing and swimming.
